Discover a hidden part of yourself in a gentle, playful and exploring way, by becoming one with nature. This experimential learning to connect with our inner child, takes place in a unique and safe environment.

Salomie and Chrisna will guide you through a journey of discovering different facets and levels of being. The various activities you will join in, includes the following:

    Are you ready to be disconnected from the outside world and external distractions, willing to allow yourself to enjoy a couple of days in the silence of nature?  You will be introduced to a lifestyle of raw food and vegetarian meals without alcohol.   It is a time to explore  and allow the sound of nature to embrace cellular bodies and harmonize your thoughts to the frequency of love.





Due to our need to establish a facility and haven that will ultimately satisfy our quest to:

-          Connect with mother nature,

-          Confirm the uniqueness within yourself

-          discover the hidden path in you as a human being

-          develop and live to your own potential

The facility had to be established in an environment that will meet with the above mentioned requirements.  The Waterberg Mountains in Limpopo with its unique bushveld, picturous nature and abundant wild life was the ideal environment.  We obtained land within a country estate “Leopards Rock” midway between Bela-Bela (Warmbath) and Modimolle (Nylstroom).  The facility is situated in a “kloof” with beautiful scenes of water streams around and underneath the house/structure during raining seasons.  The structure was built to follow the shape and contours of the “kloof” ending up with three levels of living space – one level fully exposed to heaven.  Natural material from the area was utilized as far as possible in order to interact as a unit with surrounding nature.

When moving through the facility you detect various feelings and experiences from each and every view with lots of space at hand, which in itself, enhance the holistic quest to the greatness of mother earth.

What are our workshops all about.....

During the Workshop.........

  • gather and support one another other. It is traditional custom for women to learn, heal, share
  • we introduce an integrated system of health;, mental care is through participation, group and individual interaction;
  • we discuss coping mechanisms and tools to deal with today’s challenges, like  family  life, work, health, mental and self time;
  • we enhance spiritual and physical health by educating, while creating an  atmosphere of empowerment and mutual support.

The aim of these workshops is to integrate health care and holistic care for all. We discuss and offer a daily approach to conquer stress and to live a fulfilled life. We strive to create a balance between alternative health care and conventional medicine.

Statistics indicate a general increase in divorces, depression, ill health, oppression and loss of identity. How can a retreat bring wellness into the modern women’s life today?

Different activities help to bring harmony to body, mind and spirit. A skilled and experienced psychologist, Salomie Jordaan-Kolbe,  will use tools such as, writing, dancing, drawing, color therapy, and inner-child and trust work, to enhance a change in behavior and guide you to your true life path.

Embracing the significance of the connection of the body/mind/soul and nature is of paramount importance when addressing the challenges faced in modern era of today. All living creators are connected and we inspire to teach the connection between human and nature. Meditation is a crucial component of daily life and it is important to find and listen to that inner voice in order to discover the hidden messages in silence.

Humor is a way to cope with heavy emotions or a difficult challenge. New ways are introduced to assist poeple to feel a sense of relieve. Humor is an avenue to heal mental and physical health. By learning a sense of humor, women learn the ability to erase, cleanse or change what was previously embarrassing, oppressive, sorrow-full and painful.

Trust is a crucial step to move forward and the emphasis is to enhance mutual trust. Empathy, trust and acceptance are key ingredients of conducting a three and a half day workshop in a safe and luxurious environment in an eco-state. Spending time in casual conversations and sharing vegetarian and rawlicious meals before discussion, enhances trust between participants. In this way the participants not only discover the professional qualities of the two facilitators, Salomie and Chrisna, but get to know them on a personal level. The power of a group of women gathered together and participating in various activities is an empowering experience and a safe way of communication.

Our workshop is based on a lifetime of connecting with nature, including connecting with yourself. We begin opening pathways to connect with your inner child and focusing on blockages. We create the opportunity to be comfortable with yourself while deepening the ability to connect with yourself in nature and awakening your inner call. In a state of tranquility with yourself you have the opportunity to develop the ability to re-connect with yourself, observe nature and awaken your dreams through; story-telling – gathering in a circle to share stories; healthy vegetarian meals usually prepared by a professional chef where participating is at all times encourage to learn about rawlicious and conscious cooking; yoga – different postures that benefits various parts of the body and breathing techniques and relaxation, inner child work – mirror work to connect to yourself again, short meditative walks in nature and much more fun activities.

Many stories and feelings were shared during these times, often with tears and laughter. Ending the gathering with a prayer – usually a prayer for good health for members and their families is part of the structure.

We begin life with our first breath and end it with our last. When we observe a baby breathing, one of the most obvious things we notice is the full “balloon belly” breath. It is the body’s natural way of releasing toxins and enhancing cell regeneration. As we grow older, our breath often becomes shallow. Holding or blockage of breath is an indicator of stored emotions that need to be released. “Most people utilize only a small percentage of the natural five-quart capacity of the lung. How fully we breathe directly affects our mental processes as well as our emotional and physical states.”

Chrisna Ashforth is an International Kundalini Yoga teacher. She will teach you the benefits of the different movements and the effects they have on the various body systems, such as the respiratory system.

Breathing is a means of extracting energy from the environment, and therefore control of the breathing process in meditation is one means of affecting the movement of the underlying energy itself, the channels in which it moves, and the movement itself. The lungs, which are one of the main organs of breathing along with the diaphragm, are the body’s reservoir of suppressed grief and sadness.

Activities started with breathing exercises. Some breathing exercises facilitate increased energy and others increase the relaxation to body,mind and spirit.

Taking the journey with a whole group, wherever and however it happens, is the path of transformation. The bonding and sharing that take place in the group is the substance of growth and change during their interaction with each other. The most effective therapeutic tools include not only expertise in technique and theory but, more important, empathy.

The integrated workshop is an effective approach working with people from all different spheres of life. An understanding of traditions, such as prayer, storytelling, and ceremonies, along with an understanding of the importance of body, mind, and spirit, are integral components of treatment . We cannot separate ourselves into parts; we are part of a whole and, from a health perspective, need to be treated as a whole person.

“If something is true, you will feel it within the very depths of your heart, although sometimes it may take a little time. After a seed is sown, it takes a few months for it to germinate. In a year it grows into a sapling, and eventually it grows into a huge
banyan tree.

When you begin to take an interest in the spiritual life, you have sown the seed. You may not see the results immediately. You will feel light and peace, but first you have to have faith. Inside your body there are many organs: the heart, lungs, and so on. You believe this because doctors and others say so. Although you cannot see these organs, you know that they are there. Similarly, in the inner world, if you do not see something right now, you cannot say that it doesn’t exist. In your inner life there are many things which you may not be aware of right now, but if you pray and meditate soulfully, and cultivate more faith, this faith is not going to mislead you. You have to start with faith -
sincere, genuine, sublime faith.
You have to pray and meditate to feel your own divinity. But, if you cannot feel your inner divinity right now, do not be sad or upset. Pray and meditate sincerely, and through your faith, your real divinity will one day loom large. It takes time to aquire a free access to the inner world. But once you have free access to the inner world, you will see that its flooded with light and delight.” ~ Sri Chinmoy

Program for the Workshop

Spirit Quest  provides small group experiences. We limit our retreats to 12 people or less. This way we can provide an experience which is based on your life challenges and issues. We can give you the tools to make your voice heard. These retreats are interactive and a safe place will be created for all to become vulnerable and learn to heal and grow! We listen to your hearts, and stories, and needs. These retreats are very personal and go deep. Often connections are made that last a lifetime.

Day 1 – Arrival

Day 2
6:00-8:00 Tools for Building Content: Yoga, meditation and relaxation learning how to utilize breath, meditation and positive affirmation to enrich our lives and to provide balance and centering.
10:00-12:00 Power of the Gong Bath: Managing the egoist mind and stepping into a place of stillness and strength. Experience the soothing release provided in this segment.
2:30-4:00 Ceremony of Letting Go: Open your Soul pouch and clear all that’s been holding you back. Give your limitations and troubles to this mother earth.
6:30-8:00 Shamanic Sound Healing: Feel yourself reconnect as you experience the hidden messages from Mother Nature. Ear candling. Let yourself feel your own heartbeat and your vital force will return!

Day 3 – Empowering Your Life Vision
6:00 – 8:00 yoga , meditation and relaxation

10:00-11:00 Tools of Empowerment: Create a self mantra to help you move forward in your life. Go deeper with your breath work. The talking stick allows you to express your innermost feelings in a safe and supported atmosphere
11:00-12:00 Tools for Building Content: Learn about and create your own personal ceremony. What do you need right now in your life? How will you go about creating it? In this session you will begin to envision your life moving forward and will devise a “plan” to get there.
1:30-4:00 Ceremony of Manifestation: Open your heart as you connect with the vortex energies of Mother Earth. Feel your empowerment ushered in as you get clear about your path and how to step forward.
Learn the tools necessary to go deep within and find your own answers to invite in the empowerment we all deserve. We will learn how to live in the present moment and how to be mindful in everything you do.

Day 4 – Living in Joy & Serenity
10:00-11:00 Tools of Empowerment: Purpose with Passion. Explore your experience so far. What does it mean to have passion? What does it mean to know your purpose? How can you get there?
11:00-12:00 Tools for Building Content: How does the Goddess show up in your life? Do you recognize your own Divinity within? Do you feel a part of all creation? Can you connect with the power of now and leave the past behind? You are the master of your own destiny! Learn to live in peace and serenity.
As participants become more attuned and aligned with their spiritual body, our attention naturally turns to the question of how we live according to our highest purpose and do so with joy and passion. You will learn to manifest your inner vision into your outer reality.

Trauma Release Exercises is a series of exercises to release trauma stored in the muscles.

Who Can Benefit from TRE?
Since this shaking mechanism in the muscles is part of our natural behavior as humans, everyone can benefit from TRE. This shaking of the muscles, neurogenic tremors, increases the resiliency of the body because it causes deep relaxation that naturally reduces stress levels. Give to everybody, smile at everybody, pay attention. It will all come back to you. People give for the sake of giving, for the sake of the return, for the sake of public relations, for the sake of better relations. Giving is in our nature, but it should not be conditional. Those who can give unconditionally are those who feel that everything they have comes from God. There needs to be “x” amount of time, personality, self-projection, thinking and planning, which must be one-tenth of your totality, to guide you to the realm of yourself, your soul. Give to God what belongs to God: one-tenth of your time, belongings, income, thoughts, projection, communication, one-tenth of every act. Every act shall be a blessed act in which one-tenth belongs to God.

 So where does one begin?
How about beginning with a simple THOUGHT of kindness to yourself? Time out just for yourself, time to get in touch with that part of you that’s half forgotten’
THEN follow it with a simple ACT of kindness to Your Self.
I believe we have forgotten how to consider the needs we have for ourselves. We have managed to put everyone or everything first and often don’t find ourselves on our priority list at all.

I watched a short documentary by philosopher and author Roman Krznaric on his take on Empathy. While you may wonder in the following paragraphs what outrospection/ empathy has got to do with mental and emotional health, it all begins with our attitude to how we see OUR SELF in OUR world and the fear of changing . How we see our self in our world is ultimately how we engage or project ourselves out there. Our lives reflect how we see ourselves.

Krznaric says “Introspection is out, and outrospection is in. He explains how we can help drive social change by stepping outside of ourselves. For many, this could be challenging. It means that we would have to participate in a life that we are deep down, afraid of. We are so used to controlling all aspects of our lives. We believe it will bring us safety and protection from the unknown. We have created systems upon systems that keep us disengaged from connecting with the incredibly magnificent diversity our Selves as well as that of life. The systems install fear based principals. What we label as mistakes, faults, changes, I now see as Golden Handshakes of been given an opportunity to engage with life in all its pain and joy. When we engage with our world and inquire and explore its diversity, we not only drop our fear based ideas but we also learn so much about ourselves, others and our world. We see how connected we are to the stream of life, how we can be connected to the changes and how those changes can expand our lives into avenues we never believed possible.

Krzaric says that if we can have an attitude of Empathy, this will take us from introspection to outrospection. Empathy is about taking time to inquire about something that is outside of ourselves. Social interactions -how another thinks, thinks about the world, their values, their abilities, their limitations. The planet Earth – our home- what is happening to her and all that live on her. Finding an interest and developing it for the expansiveness that it brings to your life.

What helped me to connect to something greater than myself was working in my garden. I have found that to connect to nature on a daily basis is what grounds and supports me in my life journey. Worling in my garden is my connection to nature. When I see my hard work paying off growing in all their glorious abundance, it opens me up to the significance of what my garden represents to life.

Let us expand our worlds together in the next part of our life journey. Find someone in your immediate circle that you could ask them about what motivates them in their life. Find the commonality that runs through their life and yours. Then expand it into an unknown area in your life. In South Africa we have diverse cultures. What if you as a woman went and spoke to a woman of another culture and asked her what her experience of raising children is? As a man, asking a man from another culture what does it take for him to support his family?

Now, is the time to begin by removing the barriers that keep us separate from our self and one another. Begin by softening your approach to how you manage your self- talk. In the kindest of ways begin by acknowledging your thoughts and your feelings. In that simple act of acknowledgement, you will feel the resistance within your body subside. The more you practice it, you will notice the subtle ways your life changes.

Once when you tap into your own seed, that plant that is unique to this life – you will become so confident and happy with your own shadow.
